The Stagnation of Guild Wars: How can we/I avoid it?
This is not a QQ thread at all, and I wish it to remain flame free. Genuinely, I am asking for the good people of this forum to partake in a discussion and perhaps give advice on my predicament.
GW has become exceedingly boring for me. I cannot put my finger on the reason why,( I am sure they are numerous, but this is something I'd like to be discussed) but I find myself logging in purely just to see who is on my friends list and then logging out.
I have tried the taking a break method, as I haven't played the game really in over 2 months. I log back in occasionally, just to find the game the same in every way after I log in just as it was in the past.
Is there something I am missing? How have others who have reached my predicament overcome this hurdle of stagnation of the game? No new pvp maps, no real skill balances, no new rewards, no substantial PvE content. But some still can find hours upon hours of enjoyment. What indeed can be done to overcome this stagnation of the game? Or do you guys recommend just to drop it all and wait for Gw2? Please, let the discussion commence
A confused gw player.
-Lac
P.S. (since the message seems to be somewhat ambiguous), please discuss if you feel GW is stagnant or not, and if so what can be done to make it diversified and exciting.

Goals. I have a goal to reach 30 maxed titles. Were it not for this goal, I might have joined PvP or left long ago.

It comes down to what you want to do. Nothing if forcing you to play Guild Wars and if you find it boring then pick up another game. Guild Wars was not made for everyone and as such not everyone will be interested (or be able to hold interest) in Guild Wars. No game is made to entertain indefinitely and expecting one to do so is a little bit silly.
So my suggestion is, if you can't enjoy Guild Wars go ahead and try something else.

Quit the game. Simple as that. I was there before, when I didn't knew that to do next, and thinking of quitting. But I always found something new to do, and joining good allinace helped A LOT. Oh, and quit farming. However if you are still bored, then play something else.

Is that what all experienced players did? Purely quit? Surely there must be more alternatives than that, although they escape me completely.

Its your problem, your own personal reason for why you think the game is stagnate.
If you don't like it Quit, if you still like something in the game do that.
Problem solved.

You prefer to do other things than play GW. Nothing wrong with that.

Hmm... perhaps I made my motives for making this thread too ambiguous. An attempt to promote understanding of why the game has become stagnant and what can be done to avoid the brick-wall of boredom has escaped some posters here.

I'm always intrigued by these "I find GW boring now" as I personally can't share the same opinion! May be it's because I didn't go too quickly, I still have a lot of missions to do and goal to achieve.
May be you should take a break and come back at a later time?

If Guild Wars has become exceedingly boring for you, why are you looking for alternatives within the same game? Goals aren't the answer. If the fundamental mechanics of this game bore you, no amount of goals are going to help you. You'll torture yourself until you reach your goal, at which point you will feel the depressing realization that you didn't actually care about the goal to begin with, and no-one else does either. The only way it will benefit you is by further convincing you to leave your guild and virtual 'progress' for another game.

If the game has become stagnant for you, that's a shame. Only you know the answer to why this is so. Nothing can be done to escape boredom, no game has infinite re-playability.

Mmm, yeah, the same responses to every 'I'm bored, what can I do?' topic. Eep.
Anyho, in truth...? There's nothing that can be done to stop that 'brick wall'. It's only a game, and there's only so much you can really do in it before you've seen it all. It's just a matter of how many times you can sit through it all and still find enjoyment - I can play stuff like Terranigma or Halo no end, whereas with Guild Wars... I have to take breaks or else it dies for me

My advice is to stop making sweeping, generalizing remarks like this. All you can say is that you don't find the game enjoyable and would rather do other things. You can't say "the game has become stagnant" as if it's some objective truth.

personally when i got bored of GW i gave WoW ago, played the trial and got addicted to it, bought 3 months of time. then after 2nd month i got the flare to play GW again, as it was likea new game(less farming level at high 30s, low 40s). that kept me going for maybe 5 months on GW a month back i got bored again and i am no on WoW again, tought my friends being on would help, a month on i hav e a flare for GW again, of coarse wheni paid for wow time i used to play both of them daily, so i got nice bits and pieces.
but comp has been broken for 2 weeks so i cant play any computer game at all as my 98 ocmputer only has 4mb graphics card...lol.
try a 2 week break form video games altogether or try another mmo,imo you'll never realy just quit GW but get more variety and get a hunger again.

Hard mode. GW:EN. Maybe you are missing something
What keeps me playing is similar to what Zeek Aran said. Goals, for me, in the form of titles / ladder.
I'm big into HB so am always working to get as high as i can on the ladder. When it's getting frustrating i'll switch to PvE and work on some titles. Always gives me something to do.

I think the poster has been pretty clear about personalizing his complaint - saying that it's his own issue, and asking for advice from other people who have experienced the same thing.
To the poster: the people who are telling you to quit are giving you good advice, but a few alternatives have already been suggested. Changing your playstyle is another one - start a new character (and try not to ease their way through a campaign too much with gold you've got saved), or make an effort to play in areas or formats that you've avoided before. The point is to find whatever parts of the game you've neglected and give them a try.

Quoted for Ultimate Truth.
Not quite as expensive as WoW, and slightly more fun

I don't get bored with GW for a couple of reasons.
IN-GAME:
1. I don't do the same thing over and over and over. I may Vanquish an area one day, help people through missions/quests another. I may just spend time in town drunk, congradulating people on getting maxed titles and B.Sing with guildes/friends on TS.
2. I vary the way I play - sometimes I'll go out soloing, sometimes I'll PUG, sometimes I H/H or run with friends.
3. I may tackle a dungeon or Tombs run or even go jump into an alliance battle or two to break up the monotony.
OUTSIDE OF GAME: I just take a break for a day or two. I'll spend an evening just kicking back watching movies or going out with friends. Weekends, I get outside and do stuff.

This could be the most truthful thing I have ever read on this forum. Just realize that maybe your time has come to end this game. Dont become that kid who got so obsessed playing WoW he asked his character to marry him, she obviously gave him this dumbfounded look, he blew his brains out, look where it got him. :P (If you think you are this kid, call your addiction hotline immediately.)
Edited out in appropriate comment. This is a family forum, lets keep it that way.
